The SVAA is now using the RescueRouter(tm) program from Bigfoot Labs on a regular basis. This program, which
runs on the laptops in the ambulances, allows responding crews to locate the address on a digitized map, see a
picture of the house or business, and be warned of any hazards or past history regarding the address.
The program uses GPS technology to help rescuers see not only their destination, but where they are currently as
well. The SVAA was the original test site for the software in 2001 and was instrumental in providing enhancements
and feedback which was added to the retail release of the product in September 2002.
